Job summary

Empowerment Academy Charter School in Jersey City is seeking a High School Science Support Teacher/TA to assist 9th and 10th grade science classes and reinforce science content in a dynamic charter school setting.

This is a current school year role with a base salary of $44,000–$60,000, and candidates with a science background who aim to become a full science teacher are encouraged to apply; start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Substitute Certificate issued by the NJDOE (or willingness to apply and obtain one)
• Minimum of 60 credits with science courses and 2 years of classroom experience, or a BA in a science field and 1 year of experience with children
• Strong knowledge of science content at the high school level
• Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support 9th and 10th grade science classes.
• Assist in delivering engaging science content and activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and PLCs to plan lessons and meet scholars’ diverse needs.

Education

Substitute Certificate (NJDOE)

BA in Science or 60 credits with science courses

1 year classroom experience or more
