Job summary

Poland Regional High School/Whittier Middle School is seeking a Coach to organize, direct and supervise its athletic program. The coach will take direction from the athletic director and must model professionalism, sportsmanship, and positive teamwork in the school community.

Experience is preferred but not required; the role emphasizes knowledge of sport-specific coaching, safety, and student development. Responsibilities include maintaining a constructive athletic environment and collaborating

Qualifications

• Background Check (DOE) required.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Coaching Principles knowledge expected.
• Concussion management knowledge expected.
• Heat acclimatization knowledge preferred.
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest awareness required.
• Suicide Prevention Training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, direct and supervise the team and athletes under the athletic program.
• Model professionalism and sportsmanship; serve as a positive role model within a team atmosphere.
• Follow guidance from the athletic director and collaborate with school staff.

The coach is responsible for organizing, directing and supervising the team and athletes of the program they are coaching. The coach will take direction from the athletic director. Previous coaching experience is preferred, but not a requirement. The coach should have substantial knowledge of the sport and coaching. The coach will model professionalism, sportsmanship, and will serve as a positive role model while working in a team atmosphere.
