Job summary

Oak Ridge School District in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is seeking a dedicated HS Head Girls Tennis Coach to lead the tennis program and mentor student-athletes.

Responsibilities include planning practices, coordinating with the Athletic Director and Principal, enforcing conduct, scheduling competitions, and maintaining program assets.

This part-time position requires strong coaching experience, excellent communication, and the ability to work afternoon and evening hours to support team activities.

Qualifications

• Successful head coaching experience preferred; however, consideration will be given to an Assistant Coach with outstanding potential
• Strong knowledge in leading high school tennis programs
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and relate to students, staff and the community
• Good planning, organizational and administrative skills

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship
• Work with other members of school staff to plan instructional goals and objectives for student athletes
• Ensure all coaches work together toward a common goal within the tennis program and coordinate with feeder schools
• Schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements with the Athletic Director and Athletic Coordinator
• Apply and enforce student discipline during contests, practice sessions and trips off school property
• Display and encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, teachers, Athletic Coordinator and Director of Athletics
• Maintain inventory of fixed assets within the program
• Oversee cleaning, repairs and storage of campus athletic equipment
• Work under the direction of the Athletics Director and Principal
• Spend afternoon and evening hours as required for team activities

Job Expectations

• Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within the program
• Oversee process of cleaning, repairs and storing all campus athletic equipment as related to sport
• Work under the direction and supervision of the Athletics Director and Principal
• Willingness to spend afternoon and evening hours as required for team activities
