Job summary

White Swan High School in White Swan, WA is seeking a part-time High School Assistant Football Coach to join the Mount Adams School District 209 family. You will support the head coach, oversee safety, and develop players’ skills.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, coaching experience, and current first aid/CPR certifications. Immediate starting date and a school-district environment offer engaging, community-focused athletics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful coaching experience required.
• Hold current first aid certification.
• Hold a valid current hands-on CPR certification or be enrolled in a hands-on CPR course.
• Complete Washington State Patrol Criminal History background check.
• Complete OSPI Moral Character Supplemental form.
• Be at least 19 years of age.
• Knowledge of current program techniques and strategies.
• Demonstrated skill in program development and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate young athletes.
• Ability to organize program for high school students.
• Commitment to uphold policies and expectations of the school district.
• Exemplary driving record.

Responsibilities

• Recognize responsibilities for conducting activities within WIAA policies and Mt. Adams School District Board regulations.
• Assist in the athletic department as directed by the head coach.
• Assist the head coach in organizational matters at season start.
• Provide for safety and welfare of participants; stress safety procedures.
• Cooperate with other coaches and support staff.
• Escort team to and supervise all home and away games.
• Perform scouting duties as assigned by head coach.
• File accident reports when applicable.
• Oversee participants from arrival to departure; supervise dressing rooms.
• Teach and develop fundamental skills and leadership; promote sportsmanship.
• Maintain sports equipment and playing surfaces.
• Prepare and condition athletes for competition.
• Occasionally drive district vehicles with students.
