You will collaborate with program management and specialists to meet Head Start standards and Texas requirements, develop lesson plans, monitor progress, and communicate with families. This role emphasizes teamwork and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Texas Teaching Certificate required or eligible for approved Alternative Certification Program and TEXes results.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred; other degrees acceptable with 18 hours of ECE coursework.
  • Experience with young and school-aged children; bilingual English/Spanish for certain locations/assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, engaging and developmentally appropriate.
  • Plan and implement prescribed curriculum through learning experiences advancing development.
  • Develop lesson plans and routines based on observations of children’s interests and functioning.
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques and media aligned with authentic assessment.
  • Document progress and communicate with parents about academic and developmental progress.
  • Plan and supervise Teaching Assistants and volunteers; maintain records and timely reports.

POSITION OVERVIEWTeachers plan, implement, and supervise all classroom activities. This position works with typically developing children and children with disabilities.
