Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking an Athletic Trainer to oversee the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and to administer the athletic training program.

The role includes establishing first aid protocols, supervising rehabilitation, and managing a well-equipped training room within the school setting. Minimum qualifications include AT program completion and BOC certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Athletic Training Education Program.
• Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by BOC.
• State of South Carolina Certification as an Athletic Trainer through DHEC.
• Ability to work effectively with people.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Establish standard procedures for first aid and emergency care of athletes during practice and games.
• Coordinate the supervision and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
• Establish recommendations and provisions of appropriate training and conditioning procedures.
• Establish and supervise a student-teacher trainer program.
• Establish and supervise the operation of a well-equipped training room.
• Coordinate the acquisition of appropriate consent forms.
• Establish procedures for physical examination for all participants.
