HS Assistant Dance Coach (2025-26)

Job Description

Piper USD 203 is accepting applications for a high school assistant dance coach for the 2025-26 school year. Position is open until filled.

  1. Fulfill applicable roles and responsibilities as directed by the school’s administration and head coach, including adherence to district guidelines for fundraising, trips, money management, honoring contracts, credit card use, and transportation (buses, rental vehicles, and school/district owned vehicles).
  2. Work with the head coach to conduct a pre-season meeting with parents to communicate important information such as expectations/criteria for participation, sportsmanship guidelines, practice and game schedules, district transportation guidelines, insurance, injury handling procedures including concussions, parent-coach communication, substance abuse guidelines, lettering criteria, and other relevant details. Provide this information to all participants and the school administration.
  3. Teach and coach in a positive and constructive manner.
  4. Maintain a professional attitude in all situations and adhere to the district’s guiding principles for coaches.
  5. Create an environment that promotes good sportsmanship.
  6. Monitor the safety of equipment, playing surfaces, and performance environments.
  7. Understand and implement coaching duties, including maintaining detailed practice plans, supervising athletes, providing instructions for high-risk activities, adhering to lightning and hot weather safety guidelines, and evaluating injuries and physical conditioning.
  8. Comply with all KSHSAA and district rules and regulations, including participant eligibility, physical examinations, substance abuse policies, and other guidelines outlined in the KSHSAA Handbook.
