North High in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a part-time HS Assistant Girls Basketball Coach (Stipend) to support the head coach in developing players and implementing systems for competitive performance. The role requires valid Iowa coaching endorsement or authorization and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include supervising athletes, maintaining eligibility and equipment records, and participating in team events.

Qualifications

Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization.
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Coaching and/or leadership experience.
First Aid and CPR (desired).
Knowledge of conference rules and regulations (desired).
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (desired).

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in the operation of the athletic program.
Coaches and instructs players in rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport as determined by the head coach.
Follows district regulations governing the athletic program.
Supervise athletes at all times.
Participate in team prospects events and encourage participation.
Maintain eligibility forms and related duties.
Monitor academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility.
Model sportsmanlike conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
Participate in events such as parent’s night and pep assemblies.
Maintain knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Attend staff development meetings and clinics.
