Job summary

Nooter/Eriksen Inc. seeks a C&T/Systems Engineer to join the Thermal Design Team in Fenton, MO.

The role combines office review of specifications and field testing of HRSG equipment, with travel up to 30% and a hybrid work arrangement. As a key technical expert in HRSG operation, you will support testing, commissioning, and training, while collaborating across departments to optimize performance and reliability of energy systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with strength in thermo-fluid sciences.
• Ability to read and understand complex technical material, complete detailed calculations with precise results and summarize the results in a clear and concise report, think originally, and exercise good judgment.
• Must have Mechanical skills for installing testing equipment and working around high temperature and high-pressure systems with all necessary safety.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with others in the office and on jobsites, including customers and plant operations personnel.
• Must project a confident and educated demeanor with strong public speaking skills.
• Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills, detail-oriented, highly professional, organized, trustworthy team player, with proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Office Work: review contract specifications for operation, testing and commissioning of units; review customer specifications for auxiliary equipment; write job-level specifications; review bids; select suppliers; develop training presentations; assist with calibration of testing equipment; assist with development of manuals; serve as a resource for other departments; assist Sr. Engineer with various activities.
• Field Work: review job stage documentation; attend equipment factory acceptance tests; assist in field commissioning and HRSG performance testing; conduct operator training at jobsites; analyze field issues and decide on product modification; resolve customer complaints during commissioning; evaluate HRSG impact and advise on safe operation; respond to customer inquiries about unit operation.
• Travel: 10% - 30% travel (international and domestic); most trips <1 week, possibly up to 1 month; physical tasks including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, adverse weather.
