Job summary

Southern Company seeks a Mechanical Engineering professional to support HRSG maintenance and field activities. You will inspect, document, and recommend repairs, plan outages, and assist with component replacements across the fleet.

The role requires travel up to 50% and expertise in mechanical power plant equipment, including HRSGs, boilers, and turbines. Coal-fired boiler experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in HRSG or utility boiler maintenance or operation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with field retrofit projects is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair HRSGs; document findings and suggest repairs.
• Provide maintenance planning for outages.
• Assist with pressure part replacements and design reviews.
• Coordinate system owner meetings and plant meetings.
• Overnight travel within the Southern Company fleet; some nationwide travel.
• Coal-fired boiler experience is a plus.
