Job summary

Post University in Waterbury is seeking a Program Chair for Human Resource Management to provide academic leadership for the HRM program. You will oversee curriculum, faculty performance, assessment, student progression, and continuous improvement, using data and industry input to strengthen quality and relevance.

The role includes governance participation, maintaining teaching duties, and developing the faculty bench while ensuring policy compliance across modalities.

Qualifications

• Master’s in HRM (or MBA with HRM focus); PhD preferred.
• At least 10 years senior HRM experience.
• At least 5 years teaching in traditional and online formats (Blackboard or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
• Ability to engage in scholarly activities as warranted.
• Flexible, adaptable, organized, team player in a fast-paced environment.
• If doctorate is not in HRM, master’s in HRM or 15 graduate credit hours in HRM required.
• SHRM certification preferred.
• Preference for online degree from regionally accredited university.
• Proven track record of engaging students at Post University.

Responsibilities

• Program strategy and continuous improvement using enrollment, retention, course performance, assessment data.
• Curriculum leadership: review, revision, sequencing, alignment with industry standards.
• Faculty leadership and development: coaching, mentoring, performance monitoring.
• Academic quality assurance: ensure consistency of standards, delivery, outcomes.
• Program assessment: oversee assessment of learning outcomes and improvement plans.
• Student retention and progression: monitor persistence and intervene as needed.
• Industry relevance: maintain relationships with employers and advisory board.
• Faculty staffing strategy: forecast needs and credentialing, ensure coverage.
• Program advocacy: lead HRM governance within School and University.
• Policy and governance leadership: participate in committees and policy application.
• Course delivery: teach 6-8 courses per academic year.
• Academic governance: participate in at least two university committees.
