Therefore, we have guidelines on how AI can be appropriately used during your application and interviews which can be found here .

Role Overview

The People team at ID.me relies on the UKG Pro as its system of record for employee data and on UKG Ready Timekeeping for time and attendance. The HRIS Technical Lead serves as a principal technical authority and subject matter expert for UKG Pro, UKG Ready, and the broader HR tech stack. As we evaluate future platform needs and potential HRIS integrations, this role requires a technically advanced, highly analytical, and strategic systems thinker who can balance day-to-day configuration and optimization with overall system architecture, complex workflow design, and seamless data integrations, ensuring platforms remain accurate, scalable, and compliant as the company grows.

The HRIS Technical Lead acts as a trusted technical adviser, cross-functional collaborator, and change agent capable of leading smoothly through platform evaluations and system transitions. Demonstrating an advanced analytical mindset and deep structural systems thinking, this role evaluates upstream and downstream impacts on payroll, benefits, compliance, financial systems, and connected HR platforms before implementing structural changes. Embracing an AI-forward approach to HR technology and automation, the analyst identifies innovative solutions to streamline workflows, partners with HRIS System support and third-party vendors for issue resolution, and provides advanced system expertise across current and future HR platforms.

This role works across People, IT, Payroll, Finance, and Compliance teams. The role reports to the Head of Employee Experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as key subject matter expert and super admin for UKG Pro and UKG Ready Timekeeping, managing system architecture, complex workflow design, and module optimization, including onboarding, reporting, and other modules to support daily operations and strategic business goals.
  • In addition to serving as the subject matter expert for UKG, this role will also serve as the technical owner for CultureAmp, Greenhouse, Absorb, Enboarder, HR Acuity, and other HR systems.
  • Champion an AI-forward approach to HR technology, evaluating and implementing automated workflows, AI-driven analytics, and self-service capabilities to optimize HR service delivery and efficiency
  • Maintain timekeeping rules, pay codes, accruals, schedules, and time off policies, and keep them aligned with wage and hour requirements and company policy.
  • Manage user permissions, security roles, access, and system settings, and provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users, with backup support for other HR systems as needed.
  • Plan, test, and deploy changes, upgrades, new modules, and custom integrations from requirements through user acceptance testing and go live support, and recommend and implement improvements - systematically assessing upstream and downstream impacts on Payroll, Finance, IT, and Operations before full scale deployment.
  • Act as a change agent when processes or systems change, communicating impacts, preparing documentation and training, and helping partners adopt the new way of working.
  • Advise HR on system capabilities and limitations, offer workable alternatives, and push back on requests that create data, compliance, or support risk.
  • Manage third party support cases, including follow ups and escalations, and stay engaged with UKG and other vendors until the expected outcome is reached.
  • Lead data architecture and governance initiatives to define, standardize, cleanse, and map HR data, including job codes, organizational structure, and feeds to other connected systems with high execution rigor
  • Build custom queries, filters, reports, and dashboards that track workforce trends such as headcount, turnover, and retention, and present analysis and recommendations to HR and business partners.
  • Work with GRC and Compliance to resolve findings, support SOX, EEO, and audit reporting, and keep the system compliant with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Stay current on emerging HR technology, AI capabilities, vendor roadmaps, and market trends; evaluate where new tools, features, or automation opportunities could improve HR operations, employee experience, compliance, data quality, and scalability.
Why Work With Us
  • Own the technical and functional direction of HRIS System, with real influence on how People processes run.
  • Work with HR leadership, IT, Payroll, Finance, and Compliance on projects with visible results.
  • Shape how the People team adopts new tools and automation as its processes evolve.
  • Support a company that provides digital identity verification to government agencies, healthcare organizations, and consumer brands.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related HRIS experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of UKG Pro and other HRIS systems, including configuration, business processes, security roles, and super admin tasks.
  • Advanced working knowledge of UKG Ready Timekeeping, including pay rules, accruals, schedules, and super admin tasks. We have a unique HR model; your technical expertise and analytical systems-thinking must be equally deep within UKG Pro and UKG Ready, with the agility and architecture capabilities to evaluate, migrate, and scale across other enterprise HRIS platforms.
  • Lead in a system implementation or major rollout, including requirements, configuration, and testing.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle and how they translate into systems, business processes and security models.
  • Working knowledge of wage and hour rules that affect timekeeping, such as FLSA and California overtime.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical mindset with proven experience building and managing complex system integrations between HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other HR systems.
  • Advanced experience in building reports within Business Intelligence, and equally strong experience in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead cross-functionally.
  • Proactive, self directed work style, with the persistence to escape and follow up with vendor support until an issue is resolved.
  • Confidence to push back respectfully when a request conflicts with system design, data integrity, or compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal UKG administrator training or certification for UKG Pro or UKG Ready.
  • Experience with additional UKG modules, such as onboarding or Manager Self Service business processes.
  • Experience authoring reports in UKG BI (Cognos), Google Sheets, and Excel.
  • Experience with other HRIS systems.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, performance, or learning platforms, such as Greenhouse, Enboarder, CultureAmp, or Absorb.
  • Formal change management or project management training.
