Job description

Our partner is looking for an HRIS Business Operations Manager based in the United States.

As an HRIS Business Operations Manager, you will lead the strategy, governance, and optimization of an enterprise-wide HR technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on Dayforce HCM. You will ensure that HR systems, employee data, integrations, and processes are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs. Working closely with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and other stakeholders, you will connect business priorities with effective technology solutions. You will oversee major system implementations, enterprise integrations, data governance, and operational support while driving continuous improvement. This leadership role also includes developing an HRIS team, strengthening service delivery, and improving the employee and manager experience in a collaborative, remote environment.

Accountabilities

You will provide strategic and operational leadership across HR technology, ensuring that platforms, integrations, data, and support processes deliver consistent value across the organization.

  • HRIS Strategy and Platform Leadership
    • Lead the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing development of Dayforce HCM and the broader HR technology ecosystem.
    • Develop and maintain an HRIS roadmap aligned with HR priorities, enterprise technology initiatives, business growth, and operational requirements.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes through technology while balancing business needs, user experience, system capabilities, risks, and scalability.
    • Monitor HR technology trends, platform capabilities, and vendor roadmaps to recommend improvements and future opportunities.
    • Establish standards for system configuration, enhancements, testing, releases, documentation, and change management.
  • Enterprise Systems and Integrations
    • Represent HRIS requirements in major enterprise technology transformations, ensuring employee data, integrations, controls, and workforce processes are considered in design and implementation decisions.
    • Lead and support integrations between Dayforce, Deltek Vantagepoint, iCIMS, and other enterprise platforms.
    • Partner with Finance and business leaders on ERP initiatives involving employee, organizational, labor, payroll, time, project, and other shared data.
    • Collaborate with IT, Information Security, system owners, vendors, and implementation partners to establish effective integration architecture, data flows, dependencies, controls, and support models.
    • Lead HRIS participation in implementations, upgrades, integrations, testing, data conversions, and other enterprise technology initiatives.
    • Investigate complex cross-system issues, identify root causes, coordinate stakeholders, and drive resolutions through completion.
    • Assess downstream impacts of system and process changes to protect interconnected platforms and business operations.
  • Data Governance, Security, and Controls
    • Oversee the integrity, consistency, and appropriate use of HR and employee data across systems and integrations.
    • Establish data governance practices covering ownership, definitions, validation, reconciliation, and documentation in alignment with IT governance standards.
    • Manage HR system access, role-based security, and data protection practices in accordance with IT and Information Security requirements.
    • Partner with IT and Information Security on audits, access reviews, compliance activities, and control requirements.
    • Maintain documentation covering system configurations, integrations, data flows, procedures, controls, and key architectural decisions.
    • Monitor system and integration performance and proactively address risks affecting data integrity, payroll, financial reporting, employee processes, and business operations.
  • HR Technology Operations and Support
    • Lead HR technology support through the Business Operations service model, ensuring requests and issues are prioritized, routed, resolved, and communicated effectively.
    • Design and manage the HRIS support structure in Freshservice, including intake processes, categorization, forms, workflows, service levels, escalation paths, and knowledge resources.
    • Support iCIMS and other people-related technologies through system administration, integrations, configuration, and continuous optimization.
    • Lead the design and adoption of the HR Service Family workspace.
    • Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and other stakeholders to translate operational needs into sustainable technology solutions.
    • Identify recurring issues, analyze root causes, and implement long-term solutions instead of relying on manual workarounds.
    • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, training materials, and knowledge resources to promote consistent system practices.
  • Projects, Optimization, and Change Management
    • Lead and participate in complex HRIS and cross-functional technology projects, from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing support.
    • Establish project plans, priorities, requirements, testing strategies, risk assessments, dependencies, and stakeholder responsibilities.
    • Coordinate user acceptance testing and validate solutions against business requirements before implementation.
    • Support communication, training, rollout, and adoption of new systems, enhancements, and processes.
    • Balance immediate operational needs with long-term architecture and business objectives when evaluating solutions and priorities.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Partner with HR and business leaders to improve access to accurate, meaningful, and appropriately governed workforce information.
    • Oversee HRIS reporting capabilities, data extracts, interfaces, and recurring reporting processes.
    • Support reporting and analytics solutions that strengthen workforce planning, decision-making, operational visibility, and data consistency.
    • Establish common workforce data definitions and reliable sources of truth across HR, Finance, and other functions.
  • Vendor and Team Leadership
    • Serve as a key contact for HR technology vendors and implementation partners, managing escalations, system issues, enhancement discussions, release planning, and technical coordination.
    • Evaluate vendor capabilities and proposed solutions against business requirements, security expectations, technology standards, and long-term strategy.
    • Lead, develop, and support HRIS team members, including Business Operations Analysts and other assigned resources.
    • Manage team onboarding, support queues, priorities, and workload distribution across administration, projects, enhancements, reporting, integrations, and user support.
    • Build team capabilities through coaching, documentation, cross-training, and knowledge transfer.
    • Promote a collaborative, service-oriented culture with clear accountability for system quality, responsiveness, and results.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring extensive HRIS and enterprise systems experience, strong technical and business judgment, and a proven ability to lead teams and complex technology initiatives across multiple functions.

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HRIS, HR technology, enterprise systems, or related systems roles.
  • Recent experience with Dayforce or a comparable enterprise HCM platform, such as UKG, Oracle, Workday, or SAP.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex system implementations, integrations, enhancements, or transformation initiatives involving multiple business functions.
  • Experience managing integrations between HR, payroll, ERP, financial, recruiting, and other enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of HR data governance, system security, role-based access, integrations, testing, change management, and system controls.
