Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business transformation, project management, process improvement or organizational change.

  • Experience in a shared services or matrixed environment preferred.

Job description

The HR Transformation Consultant serves as an internal consultant and change leader responsible for driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and transformation initiatives across Human Resources. This role identifies opportunities to improve processes, systems, service delivery, and employee experiences while leading projects from concept through implementation and adoption.

The incumbent partners with HR Centers of Excellence, Shared Services, Payroll, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, IT, and business leaders to define business needs, develop practical solutions, manage projects, and successfully implement organizational change. The role requires strong project management, consulting, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and drive results in a complex matrixed environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, service delivery, technology utilization, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation and sustainable adoption.
  • Analyze current-state processes, identify root causes of operational issues, and design practical solutions that improve effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to gather requirements, build consensus, and develop future-state solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures, job aids, decision trees, governance documentation, and workflow guides.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across HR functions.
Project Management (20-40%)
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects and initiatives impacting HR operations, systems, policies, programs, and service delivery.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, resource requirements, risks, and success measures.
  • Coordinate project activities across HR, Payroll, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, IT, Finance, Legal, and operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and elevate issues as appropriate.
  • Prepare leadership-ready project updates, status reports, recommendations, and implementation plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and achieve intended business outcomes.
Change Management (15-25%)
  • Develop and execute change management strategies to support HR initiatives, process changes, technology implementations, and organizational improvements.
  • Assess stakeholder impacts and develop communication, engagement, and adoption plans for employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to build organizational readiness and foster successful adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Identify change risks and develop mitigation strategies to improve implementation success.
  • Monitor adoption metrics and stakeholder feedback to evaluate effectiveness and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Training & Organizational Readiness (15-25%)
  • Develop training materials, job aids, reference guides, and learning resources related to process, policy, and technology changes.
  • Deliver training sessions, workshops, and change readiness activities for employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Support the development of knowledge transfer and sustainment plans for implemented solutions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase adoption and understanding.
Business Partnership & Leadership Influence (15-25%)
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to HR and business leaders on operational improvement opportunities.
  • Present recommendations, business cases, project updates, and implementation strategies to senior leadership audiences.
  • Build strong partnerships across multiple functions and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Translate complex business, operational, and technical concepts into clear and actionable information for diverse audiences.
  • Foster collaboration among stakeholders with competing priorities while maintaining focus on organizational objectives.
Data, Insights & Decision Support (5-15%)
  • Utilize operational and business data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, presentations, and analyses that support project planning and business decisions.
  • Ensure recommendations are supported by data, business needs, operational requirements, and organizational goals.
Additional Responsibilities (5-15%)
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in business transformation, project management, process improvement, HR operations, organizational change management, consulting, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives and achieving measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading change management efforts that impact employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and influencing senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a shared services or complex matrixed environment preferred.
  • Experience in multiple HR disciplines including HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Operations preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with project management, reporting, and collaboration platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while building productive partnerships across the organization.
Wage: $109,000.00 - $147,000.00 annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience. Potential for annual discretionary bonus.
