Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking an HR & Talent Manager to lead all Human Resources functions for the division in Ghent, KY. The role covers benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, recruiting, and training while promoting safety and compliance across the manufacturing site.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and have substantial HR leadership experience, including knowledge of federal/state employment laws and HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 5+ years HR experience; 1 year leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees benefits administration (medical/dental/vision, FSA, life, disability, 401k).
• Oversees weekly payroll and attendance tracking.
• Manages employee relations, policy guidance, investigations, and communications.
• Oversees recruiting of full-time teammates and student programs; manages terminations per legal requirements.
• Oversees division-wide training and development activities.
• Leads safety initiatives and ensures compliance with policies.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking qualified candidates for the position of HR & Talent Manager to lead all Human Resources functions for the Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Benefits: Oversees benefits (medical/dental, flexible spending accounts, vision, life, disability, 401k retirement savings plan, EAP, wellness initiatives, onsite medical clinic) and FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA administration.
• Compensation/Payroll: Oversees weekly payroll administration and attendance tracking.
• Employee Relations: Handles division-wide communication, responds to teammate and manager concerns, assists with investigations, provides counsel/guidance regarding policies/procedures, and organizes company functions.
• Recruiting/Employment: Oversees recruiting of full-time teammates, student employment programs, & terminations in accordance with legal/regulatory requirements.
• Training/Development: Oversees division-wide training activities and assists with teammate development.
• Public/Community Relations: Oversees community support activities and advertising.
• Participates in developing/implementing strategic plans to meet objectives

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
• One year of leadership experience
• Five years of human resources experience
• No relatives currently employed at Nucor Steel Gallatin

Preferences:

• Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
• SAP/SuccessFactors or HRIS software experience
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification
