Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) in Illinois is seeking a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to source, attract, and identify top-tier candidates for open positions across our nonprofit network.

You will lead full-cycle recruiting, build strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and external networks, analyze ATS data and hiring metrics, maintain a strong candidate pipeline, and promote the organization’s brand at recruitment events to attract high-caliber talent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required or preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in full cycle recruiting, including career/job fairs and college recruiting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage full-cycle recruiting efforts, including interviewing, job posting, sourcing, screening, selection, and talent acquisition training, tailored to the dynamic needs of our nonprofit organization.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and external networks to support proactive talent acquisition and workforce planning.
  • Analyze ATS data and all facets of the hiring process including but not limited to recruiting metrics, job posting effectiveness, sourcing effectiveness, interviews, and offers, to address potential barriers to processes.
  • Organize and represent LSSI at recruitment events, job fairs, and professional networking opportunities to promote the organization’s brand and attract high-caliber talent.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and employment regulations throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Identify recruiting needs, establish strategies, and successfully attract and hire talent working toward the process of full cycle recruiting.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships and solid supportive working relationships with key networks, Human Resources, and hiring managers to assess, support, recruit for and fill talent needs on a timely basis.
  • Develop an understanding of positions, programs, and site requirements.
  • Promote and create the organization’s presence to effectively establish and maintain partnerships with universities, schools, and other associations.
  • Maintain professional communication and rapport with managers, active and passive job seekers, and organizational partners.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Lutheran Social Service of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist, Monday through Friday. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be r esponsible for sourcing, attracting and identifying top-tier candidates for open positions as well as developing a talent pipeline for a range of jobs across various regions within the designated network.

Essential Functions

Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM certification (SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • HRCI certification (SPHR or PHR) preferred.
  • AIRS or AIHR certification preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in full cycle recruiting, including experience with career/job fairs and college recruiting preferred.
  • Experience identifying and engaging passive candidates required.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organizational, and project management skills required.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations impacting recruiting, selection and the hiring process required.
  • Prior experience working in the not-for-profit area preferred.
  • Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
