The Accommodation Consultant (AC) will work directly with employees and senior leadership to provide accommodations. The AC will be the primary contact for employees during the accommodation and workplace adjustments process. This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and a customer service focus that employees expect from Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Perform accommodation reviews to ensure compliance and support employee requests for safe and productive assignments.
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert on the accommodations process and provincial and federal disability laws.
  3. Coordinate the accommodation process and provide end-to-end case management.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine and finalize accommodation approvals or denials.
  5. Work with leave of absence case managers.
  6. Communicate accommodation decisions, disseminate the Job Accommodation Record (JAR) to the employee, and partner with stakeholders for implementation.
  7. Educate employees and HR on complex aspects of return to work, accommodation, and case processes.
  8. Direct employees to appropriate resources for answers.
  9. Maintain a high volume case load.
  10. Keep system records accurate and timely.
  11. Provide training for employees, managers, HR, and others in DLS.
  12. Adhere to internal SLAs and quality standards.
  13. Collaborate with third-party administrators, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments.
  14. Participate in activities and projects within the DLS program.
  15. Maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
  17. Travel as appropriate.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Relevant experience supporting employees with benefits, leave of absences, HR, or employee relations.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Very good proficiency in written and verbal Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of disability laws regarding access for people with disabilities.
  • Computer operating and database management skills.
  • Strong time management and ownership of deliverables.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with all levels of business and prioritize work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in disability issues consultation and training.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
