Job description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO) of the Army National Guard (ARNG). The purpose of the position is to provide oversight, planning, interpretation, and application of policy. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess the experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication; write English in reports and presentation formats; communicate clearly and effectively; presenting formal training presentations and briefings; assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level, AND/OR at least Twenty-Four (24) months of experience, education, or training in human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency; using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments; performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data; operating a computer and using varied computer programs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. *4. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
