Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Segers Aero Corporation located in Fairhope, AL is seeking an Entry Level HR Representative to join our team. This role requires onsite attendance and is not eligible for remote work. We offer a competitive benefits package and a 9/80 work schedule (6:30am - 4:00pm) that includes every other Friday off.

Purpose of Position: The Entry Level Human Resources Representative provides administrative and operational support for the Human Resources Department. This position assists with benefits, HRIS maintenance, compliance activities, employee engagement initiatives, recruitment, special projects, and serves as the designated backup for payroll processing. The HR Representative acts as a resource for employees and managers by providing accurate information, exceptional customer service, and timely support while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with applicable employment laws. This role requires onsite attendance and is not eligible for remote work.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.)

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including preparing correspondence, maintaining departmental records, trackers, and files; scanning and organizing documents; processing forms; entering and updating data; and ensuring employee information and HR documentation are accurate, organized, secure, and readily accessible.
  • HRIS Administration: Maintain employee information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Process employee status changes, generate routine reports, verify data accuracy, and assist with resolving basic system-related issues.
  • Training Coordination: Coordinate employee training activities by scheduling classes, maintaining training records, tracking completion status, preparing reports, and assisting with compliance-related training requirements and documentation.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain personnel files and employee records in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements. Ensure employment documentation is complete, confidential, and up to date, and assist with document audits as needed.
  • Compliance and Recordkeeping: Support compliance efforts by maintaining required employment records, completing routine audits of employee files, preparing documentation for internal and external reviews, and assisting with compliance activities.
  • Performance Management: Monitor performance, review timelines, maintain documentation, track completion metrics, and provide administrative support for performance management activities.
  • Benefits Administration Support: Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, open enrollment activities, and routine benefits-related questions. Process documentation, and coordinate communication with benefit providers as directed.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing by reviewing and validating timecards, researching and resolving payroll discrepancies, processing approved corrections, reconciling payroll reports, and providing backup payroll support to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Recruitment Support: Support recruitment during peak hiring periods by reviewing resumes and applications and assisting hiring managers throughout the selection process, and utilizing ATS, HRIS, and onboarding platforms. Participate in and serve as a back‑up for day one onboarding activities to create a positive employee experience. Participate in and serve as a back‑up representative for job fairs, school partnership programs, and other community outreach events.
  • Employee Service and Communication: Serve as a resource for employees and managers by responding to routine inquiries regarding HR programs, policies, benefits, forms, and procedures.
  • Special Projects: Provide administrative and logistical support for Human Resources projects and initiatives, including employee engagement, policy development and revisions, audit preparation, process improvement, reporting, workplace culture, onboarding enhancements, and talent management. Coordinate project activities, maintain documentation, track deliverables, and support timely and accurate completion of initiatives.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Works overtime as required to support departmental and business needs.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally.
  • Must be able to see within the normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses.

  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience including recruitment and staffing responsibilities, are required. Payroll processing experience is a plus. An associate's or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is a plus.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must be technologically proficient and possess hands‑on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Human Resources Information Systems HRIS platforms, and employee onboarding platforms.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre‑employment drug screening.
