Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking an experienced HR Ops Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations across the US and Colombia, ensuring high-quality support for employees, managers and HR stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day HR Operations across the US, Colombia, ensuring high-quality support for employees, managers and HR stakeholders.
  • Manage and improve core hire-to-retire processes, including onboarding, employee changes, benefits administration, payroll inputs, leave management, employee documentation, exits and offboarding.
  • Oversee payroll operations and payroll governance across in-scope countries, ensuring inputs, approvals, reconciliations, controls and reporting are accurate and completed on time.
  • Act as the HR Operations subject matter expert for employment law, HR compliance, audit readiness and operational risk across the US, Colombia.
  • Provide strategic oversight for employment-based immigration, visa sponsorship and global mobility programs, partnering with Legal, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and business leaders to enable international talent acquisition and workforce mobility while ensuring compliance with applicable immigration laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Support employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and exit matters, in partnership with HR Business Partners and Legal as required.
  • Own HR data quality and records management for the region, ensuring employee records, payroll data, benefits information and legal documentation are accurate, complete and maintained in the appropriate systems.
  • Use Workday / HRIS reporting and operational dashboards to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Drive a modern HR service delivery approach, including clear SLAs, case management disciplines, escalation paths, knowledge articles and employee self-service adoption.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, reduce manual work, strengthen controls and improve the employee and manager experience.
  • Lead, coach and develop a distributed HR Operations team across the US and Colombia, setting clear expectations, priorities and performance standards.
  • Manage benefits administration, renewals, vendor relationships and employee communications in partnership with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • Provide oversight of facilities-related HR operational matters where required, including local office coordination, office contracts, vendor support and potential office moves.
  • Contribute to global HR projects and local initiatives, ensuring effective change management and operational adoption across the region.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Required Experience & Skills:
  • Significant progressive experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HR Shared Services or HR Service Delivery, ideally within a global technology, SaaS, professional services or complex multinational environment.
  • Strong multi-country HR operations experience, with practical knowledge of US employment law and exposure to Colombia employment practices.
  • Proven experience managing payroll operations, payroll governance, benefits administration, HR compliance and audit readiness.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employment-based immigration, visa sponsorship and global mobility programs across multiple countries, including partnership with legal counsel, immigration providers and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and developing distributed HR Operations teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Strong HRIS capability, ideally with Workday or a comparable enterprise HCM platform, including employee data management, reporting and process workflow understanding.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret HR, payroll, compliance and service delivery data and translate findings into practical actions.
  • High attention to detail and a strong controls mindset, particularly in payroll, employee records, legal documentation and audit-related activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex HR, compliance and payroll matters clearly to employees, managers and leaders.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
  • Experience with HR service delivery models, case management, knowledge management, employee self-service or shared services transformation.
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Workday Help, ServiceNow HRSD or similar HR service delivery / case management platforms.
  • Experience operating in a private-equity backed, high-growth or transformation-oriented business environment.
  • Experience supporting facilities operations, office contracts, office moves or local workplace vendor coordination.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPD or equivalent local professional qualification.
  • Experience of HR laws and practices in Colombia, alongside US employment law exposure.
