POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Operations Coordinator will provide integrated support across HR, plant operations, office administration, and environmental health & safety (EHS) at ITW Shakeproof – Machesney Park. This role bridges HR functions with operational and safety initiatives, ensuring workforce management, compliance, and process efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration across multiple teams to enhance HR operations, workforce efficiency, and plant safety.

Key responsibilities include supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations while maintaining safety programs, compliance records, and operational training. The coordinator will oversee incident reporting, safety audits, and continuous improvement efforts, working closely with HR & Operations leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy (Microsoft Office, Workday, SharePoint), and experienced in HR and safety coordination within a manufacturing setting. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR & Workforce Support

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Support HR policies, compliance, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Manage HR transactions, records, and employee inquiries.

Operations & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to plant leadership, coordinating reports, communications, and events.
  • Maintain office organization, document control, and vendor coordination.

EHS & Compliance

  • Administer safety reporting, audits, and OSHA compliance.
  • Oversee training programs for safety, equipment use, and emergency response.
  • Support workers' compensation cases and return-to-work programs.
  • Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement and compliance monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and implement process improvements.
  • Highly organized with the ability to document, track, and retrieve business information efficiently.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer-focused mindset with a commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Knowledge of HR functions, policies, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel).
  • Must be available to work onsite 5 days a week at the Machesney Park location with flexible hours.

Compensation Information:

hourly rate: $20.00 - $27.00
