Basic Purpose:
  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Evaluate programs and make recommendations for changes as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and conduct recruitment and selection efforts, including writing and placing advertisements, coordinating the internal job posting program, interviewing and evaluating applicants. Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons for separation.
  • Plan and oversee the new employee orientation program.
  • Represent the company at unemployment hearings.
  • Administer the compensation program, including job description development and implementation of pay changes.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including the annual open enrollment process, employee communications, claims resolution, change reporting, and invoice review. Administer 401(k) contribution uploads and participant updates.
  • Oversee weekly payroll processing. Maintain HRIS system with rate changes, pay scales, and timekeeping policies, ensuring compliance with DOL and Wage and Hour laws.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and programs. Investigate and resolve employee relations issues. Develop and implement resolution steps proactively.
  • Assist managers with employee issues and ensure legal compliance through guidance and education.
  • Coordinate HR services such as promotions, transfers, EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, training, and employee relations.
  • Generate and analyze reports on benefits, staffing, turnover, absenteeism, applicant tracking, EEO, promotions, and LOAs.
  • Oversee plant vending services program.
  • Stay informed on federal and state HR laws and regulations, ensuring departmental compliance. Advise management and staff on legal and policy matters.
  • Perform other responsibilities to support business objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise Human Resources Coordinators and HR Generalists, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 5 years HR experience, or equivalent.
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of benefit plans, HR principles, employment laws, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidentiality and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
