Job summary

Gekko Group seeks a locally based HR Manager to lead our people strategy, champion Inclusion, Innovation, and Excellence, and bridge business objectives with employee experience. Based in Newbury four days a week, you will oversee recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and policy development, ensuring compliance and staff development.

You will bring CIPD Level 5+ or equivalent, strong HR leadership, and a track record in employment law and GDPR.

  • Talent Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to performance management and succession planning.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure HR policies meet employment law requirements and handle complex ER matters.
  • Systems & Data: Lead HR system optimisation to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and implement policy handbooks and staff communications.
  • Lead HR & Recruitment activities ensuring statutory requirements are met and valuing our people.

Gekko Group seeks a locally based (to Newbury) HR Manager to lead our people strategy and champion a culture of Inclusion, Innovation and Excellence. As a member of our leadership team, you will bridge the gap between business objectives and employee experience, ensuring our workforce is onboarded, engaged, capable and future‑ready, managing all company HR matters., We seek an experienced CIPD qualified Human Resources professional to join our team based out of our Newbury office 4 days a week. This is your chance to assist Gekko Group to enhance efficiencies and share knowledge developing our processes, systems and staff handbooks also all that HR delivers, usually unplanned. A self starter that assists all to effectively manage employees supportively and fairly, aiding in their management, development and retention. You'll work closely with our Managing Director and General Manager, helping to build strong relationships, leveraging your experience to bring new ideas and growth towards achieving ambitious business targets and a pleasant working environment for all. We are an award-winning field marketing agency that connects leading leisure, lifestyle, and tech brands with consumers across retail, online, and B2B channels, bringing them to life through captivating in-store experiences, events and direct engagement. Our teams work collaboratively to bring energy, enthusiasm and experience to every interaction as you'll be expected to do also. Proximity to our Newbury office is essential and a CIPD or similar qualification is required.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive People Strategy that aligns with Gekko Group's long‑term commercial goals.
  • Culture & Wellbeing: Drive initiatives that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) while prioritising employee mental health and engagement.
  • Talent Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from executive recruitment and onboarding, to succession planning and performance management.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure all HR policies adhere to current employment law and manage any complex employee relations with professionalism.
  • Systems & Data: Lead the optimisation of a HR system to provide actionable data and insights for the business.
  • Turning insights into initiatives: Improve performance and retention.
  • Maintaining and managing Gekko Group polices: Keeping teams safe, valued and communicated with.
  • Managing HR & Recruitment: Assisting the HR & Recruitment team to ensure statutory requirements are met and that valuing our people is at the front of mind for all, from recruitment to employment.
  • Experience in HR from any sector. Recruitment experience is an added bonus
  • Recent and proven experience in Employment Legislation, GDPR etc. is essential, as is being able to communicate with all employees in a professional and factual manner
  • A leader with integrity who can intelligently balance the demands of the day‑to‑day and strategic expectations along with building strong internal and external relationships
  • A strong commercial understanding and the ability to translate this into effective HR and business decision making, with a proven ability to support stakeholders and clients
  • Experience: Proven HR leadership experience
  • Qualifications: CIPD (Level 5 or above ) or equivalent professional HR certification.
  • A salary up to £52,000 (DOE
