Job summary

Delaware Caregivers, Newark, Delaware, seeks a seasoned Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations, shape culture, and ensure compliant, employee‑centric processes. This role partners with leadership to drive engagement, manage employee relations, administer benefits and leave programs, and build organizational development initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of employee relations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience administering employee benefit programs and leave management.
  • Demonstrated workplace investigations and conflict-resolution experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with organizational leaders to support business objectives and workforce initiatives.
  • Drive programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall efficiency.
  • Provide HR metrics and reporting insights.
  • Serve as primary contact for employee relations matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Provide coaching to managers on employee concerns and disciplinary actions.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive work environment.
  • Oversee administration of benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, and ancillary).
  • Lead annual open enrollment processes.
  • Act as liaison between employees, brokers, and vendors.
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and issue resolution.
  • Manage leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and applicable state and federal leaves.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement policy updates as needed.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and confidential documentation.
  • Support managers with performance management and employee development initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and best practices related to employee performance.
  • Mentor and support HR team members while encouraging professional growth.
  • Help build leadership capability throughout the organization.

Position Overview

As the Human Resources Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees while overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources department. You will play a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance, managing employee relations, administering benefits and leave programs, and supporting strategic business initiatives.

What You’ll Do
Strategic HR Leadership
  • Partner with organizational leaders to support business objectives and workforce initiatives

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee concerns and disciplinary actions
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive work environment
Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Oversee administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and ancillary benefits
  • Lead annual open enrollment processes
  • Act as the primary liaison between employees, brokers, and benefit vendors
