Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system serving a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. The Clinical Instructor will teach basic life support programs and ECG/EKG theory to EMS and clinical staff under the Director of Education.

Requirements include a paramedic course with BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor certification, Florida paramedic licensure, and two years of EMS field experience (or equivalent ER/ICU RN teaching experience).

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and completion of a paramedic course with BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor certification.
• Two years EMS paramedic field experience with ECG/EKG teaching experience (can substitute ER/ICU RN experience with ECG/EKG teaching).
• Current AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor status and Florida Paramedic licensure.

Responsabilités

• Teach basic life support programs under the Director of Education.
• Teach ECG/EKG theory and practice to EMS and clinical staff at all levels.
• Apply EMS/critical care theory to practical skills during training.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a paramedic course certified BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor.

Required Experience:

• Two (2) years of EMS paramedic field experience, including ECG/EKG teaching experience. [HR may accept two (2) years of EMS, emergency room (ER), or intensive care unit (ICU) registered nursing experience (including ECG/EKG teaching experience) in lieu of two (2) years of EMS paramedic field experience.]

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support/Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor status/ Current Florida Paramedic licensure.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

• Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Clinical Instructor’s role is to teach basic life support programs, assists in course set up and coordination.
• The clinical instructor is also responsible for teaching all levels of clinical, and EMS personnel the theory and practice of ECG/EKG.
• The clinical instructor possesses considerable knowledge of and experience in emergency medical services/critical care theory skills, and practices.
