Job summary

Marmon Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Manager for a unionized railcar repair facility. The role leads employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, and workforce planning onsite five days a week, partnering with plant leadership to build a safety-focused culture.

This hands-on leader administers settlements, contract administration, investigations, and performance management while ensuring compliance with employment laws and workplace safety standards across the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• 3–5 years HR experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
• Partner effectively with frontline leaders and support hourly workforce.
• Navigate union environments, including contract administration, grievance resolution, and labor relations.
• Lead workplace investigations, employee relations matters, and performance management processes.
• Apply strong knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA and ADA.
• Influence leaders and build trusted relationships with employees, union representatives, and operational management.
• Communicate, negotiate, and resolve complex workplace issues with professionalism and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership to drive employee relations, labor relations, workforce planning, talent management, and HR strategy.
• Build relationships across the facility with employees, leaders, union reps, and community partners.
• Coach and influence leaders to strengthen performance and engagement.
• Lead investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions, and labor-management meetings.
• Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and job bidding processes.
• Direct recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning for hourly and salaried employees.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and safety requirements.
• Champion engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives.
• Analyze workforce metrics to improve business outcomes.
• Drive cross-functional HR initiatives supporting operational excellence.
• Promote company values and an inclusive, high-performing culture.
