Job summary

National Cart Company in Saint Charles, MO seeks an HR Intern to work directly with the HR Director. This in-office role offers exposure to all HR functions, with typical hours 7:30 am–4:00 pm.

Start date August 13, with potential to continue beyond fall semester; part-time or full-time options available. Requirements include pursuing an HR degree, strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and knowledge of employment laws.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college/university pursuing HR degree or related field.
• Strong familiarity with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of employment laws is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Able to identify and resolve problems promptly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Associate orientation, development, training logistics, and recordkeeping.
• Handle paperwork for new hire orientation and termination.
• Maintain associate files in HR Department.
• Assist with implementing and tracking health and safety programs.
• Assist with benefit orientation.
• Support recruitment efforts.
• Contribute to employee engagement activities and recognition programs.

We are currently looking for an HR Intern to join our team! In this role you will work directly for the HR Director to gain a unique and invaluable perspective across all HR functions. This position is in office at our St. Charles location and the hours are typically 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Part-time or full-time is available. The start date for this is August 13th with the opportunity to continue the internship past the Fall semester.

Requirements

• Currently attending college/university to obtain human resources degree or related field.
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in Microsoft Office.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of various employment laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Must be able to gather and analyze information with high attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
