Job summary

National Cart Company (NCC) in Saint Charles, MO, is seeking an HR Intern to work directly with the HR Director. This in-office role provides exposure to all HR functions and practical experience in recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee engagement.

The position offers flexible part-time or full-time scheduling, with start date August 13th and potential extension beyond Fall semester, giving you a real view of daily HR operations in an essential manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Currently attending college/university to obtain an HR degree or related field.
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in Microsoft Office.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of various employment laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Must be able to gather and analyze information with high attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Assists with associate orientation, development, training logistics, and record-keeping.
• Assists with the paperwork involved in new hire orientation and termination.
• Helps maintain associate files in the Human Resources Department.
• Assists with implementing and tracking company health and safety programs.
• Assists with benefit orientation.
• Helps with recruiting efforts.
• Assists with employee engagement activities such as touch-base program and employee recognition.

We are currently looking for an HR Intern to join our team! In this role you will work directly for the HR Director to gain a unique and invaluable perspective across all HR functions. This position is in office at our St. Charles location and the hours are typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Part‑time or full‑time is available. The start date for this is August 13th with the opportunity to continue the internship past the Fall semester.
