A leading staffing firm is seeking an HR Generalist to support the West Point Mill facility. This role involves managing labor relations, implementing HR policies, and fostering employee relations through strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, along with relevant HR experience, to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Shift: M-F 8AM-4:30PM
Must have MILL BACKGROUND CHECK DONE
Can start with only a DT while BGC runs on assignment for up to 30 days.
OT: Yes, possible

The Opportunity:
The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day HR functional support for the West Point Mill facility in West Point, VA. This position will have a variety of HR responsibilities including labor relations, policies and procedures, recruitment, and talent management for assigned client group. You will serve as a business liaison for managing union relationships while assisting with human resource initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and mill metrics.
How you will impact ***:
· Create strategic business partnerships with front-line employees and supervisors to promote positive employee relations.
· Create progressive discipline plans to monitor, review and make suggestions for corrective actions for attendance, punctuality, conduct and performance issues.
· Implement human resource policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and reporting.
· Serve as the first point of contact for labor relations to manage grievance procedures and administration of the collective bargaining agreement and labor union contract negotiations.
· Coach and advise front-line employees and managers regarding employee relations policies, contractual labor agreements interpretation and proper operating procedures.
· Partner with Talent Acquisitions to manage the workforce plan development and implementation, assisting with compensation and training initiatives and
· Investigate questions and/or complaints to resolve employee relations issues.
What you need to succeed:
· Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business-related degree
· 3 to 5 years of HR Generalist experience
· Working knowledge of Federal compliance guidelines (i.e., OFCCP)
· Working knowledge of HRIS tools and payroll systems, employment laws, benefits, HR principles
· Demonstrated experience managing union relationships and labor relations
· Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environment.
· Demonstrated success in applying fresh, creative thinking and a growth mindset to complex challenges/problems resulting in high impact outcomes
· Excellent cross-group collaboration, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
· Possess a desire to grow and develop employees in a complex and matrixed business environment
