Job Details

As a Human Resources (HR) Generalist II, you will primarily support a nursing population of approximately 565 nurses, as well as support staff, in human resources strategies and workforce needs for the hospital. You will provide counsel to management on HR functions, caregiver relations, compensation, performance management, and engagement. You will serve as a front-facing HR partner, handling policy questions, employee relations, and system navigation.

This role offers opportunities for advancement into leadership positions and exposure to high-level initiatives, including reporting for Magnet and employee engagement strategies. You will also lead presentations, drive system improvements, and help shape HR and clinical partnerships.

Work hours: Days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a confidential advisor on performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
  • Counsel client groups and facilitate conflict resolutions.
  • Interpret and advise on HR policies and programs.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend actions.
  • Build relationships with HR partners and communicate programs.
  • Respond to inquiries from nursing staff.
  • Handle employee relations matters.
  • Support compliance efforts and system navigation (Workday, Kronos, etc.).
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide recommendations.
  • Prepare presentations and support manager planning.
  • Drive initiatives on employee engagement and retention.
  • Partner with legal and support regulatory compliance.
  • Identify training needs and support workforce planning.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • Five years of HR experience, or an associate degree with two years of experience, or a high school diploma with four years of experience.
  • Knowledge of employment laws (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Strong communication and relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
Physical & Safety Requirements
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position and travel as needed.
  • Operate office equipment and communicate effectively.
