SewerAI Corporation is expanding its People Operations team and seeks an experienced HR Generalist in Walnut Creek, CA. You will own core HR processes, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS data integrity while partnering with Finance and Recruiting to scale the organization.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years of HR experience, solid knowledge of California employment law, and comfort with Rippling, Carta, Notion, and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• 4 years of hands‑on HR experience, either as a generalist or in a specialty area.
• Working knowledge of California employment requirements.
• Comfortable owning HRIS, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.
• Proficient with Rippling, Carta, Notion, and Google Workspace; capable of using AI tools to improve processes.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, execution-focused with a self‑starter mindset.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced startup with changing priorities and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day HR activities across the full employee lifecycle.
• Coordinate benefits, 401(k), and leave programs with accuracy.
• Assist in payroll inputs and changes in partnership with Finance.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and headcount reporting.
• Support onboarding, offboarding, and HR policy administration.
