Job summary

WK Kellogg Co is seeking an HR Generalist / Crew Scheduler at the Battle Creek, MI Plant. You will partner with Supervisors, Union Representatives, and hourly staff to drive engagement, manage leaves, and schedule daily and weekly tasks in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing setting.

You’ll produce reports on HR metrics, maintain records, and support training and safety programs while ensuring compliance with bargaining agreements. Some weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use independent critical thinking and decision making.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and business needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Available to work any shift, with some weekends/holidays as required.
• Previous HR experience (preferred but not required).
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Are you passionate about People? As an HR Generalist / Crew Scheduler, you’ll serve as part of the Human Resources team at our Battle Creek, MI Plant. With your passion for people, you’ll partner with the plant staff including Supervisors, Union Representatives and Hourly employees as appropriate, to drive plant engagement and provide excellent customer service to plant personnel. We’ll lean on you to leverage your attention to detail and multitasking skills to produce daily and weekly scheduling, process and manage leaves, metric reporting and more!

Monday through Friday - Must be available to work any shift. Some weekend work and overtime will be required at times based on plant business needs. Excited about what lies ahead? We are too!

Here Is What You Will Be Doing

• Data-Driven - You’ll report on HR metrics as needed, perform personnel file maintenance, and administer leaves of absence.
• Drive Efficiency - We want the facility to operate at peak efficiency, so you’ll contribute to efficient operations and maintain labor relations by accurately scheduling employees according to the plant’s collective bargaining agreements.
• Collaboration is Key - You’ll have the chance to be "hands-on" by partnering with Shift Operations to process production paperwork, conduct investigations, issue attendance disciplines, and research grievances and complaints.
• Set the Pace - Getting new employees off to a great start sets the pace. You’ll prepare training materials and maintain documentation for new hire orientations, safety training, and job-specific training.
• Agility - Working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment is fluid, and your ability to adjust to changes is crucial.
• Administrative Support - Support Plant projects and events as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Proven strong ability to use independent critical thinking and decision making
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and needs of the business
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Available to work any shift as well as some weekends/holidays as required
• Previous experience in a Human Resources environment, preferred but not required
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills - primarily Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Salary Range

$55,600 - $69,500

Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
