Job summary

Shenandoah Oncology in Winchester, VA is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support employees, coach leaders, and promote a positive workplace culture. This full-time onsite role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with a compensation range of $65,000 to $85,000 annually.

You will serve as a trusted advisor on policy interpretation, employee relations, recruiting, and compliance, while partnering with leadership to implement workforce planning and development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience managing employee relations issues and workplace investigations.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, performance management, compensation, leave administration, and HR compliance.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee relations matters.
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and policy violations.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and partner with leaders to achieve positive outcomes that balance employee experience with business needs.
  • Coach managers through performance management conversations, corrective action processes, documentation, and employee development discussions.
  • Support a respectful, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and identify top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer processes.
  • Provide guidance on interviewing best practices and candidate evaluation.
  • Coordinate background checks, onboarding activities, and new hire integration.
  • Advise leadership on human resources best practices, employment law, company policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support leave of absence administration and employee accommodations.
  • Assist leaders with compensation discussions, organizational changes, workforce planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze workforce trends, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop and deliver training on HR-related topics including workplace conduct, performance management, and leadership effectiveness.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Healthcare or multi-site HR experience.
  • Experience supporting physician practices or outpatient healthcare environments.
  • Experience facilitating employee investigations and coaching leaders through complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs.
