Job summary

Griffin Greenhouse Supplies Inc is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to cover full cycle recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll, and compliance. The role focuses on Paycom workflows, self-funded plans, and HR operations across the employee lifecycle.

You will partner with leaders to resolve issues, drive engagement, and ensure policy compliance while supporting workforce data reporting and audits. This role requires strong organizational skills and relationship-building.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 4–6 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
  • Hands-on payroll experience; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and confidential data handling.
  • SHRM certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who is comfortable balancing full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits, payroll, and day-to-day HR operations.While we’re seeking someone with broad HR expertise, we have a particular interest in candidates with strong, hands-on experience managing self-funded benefit plans and payroll. If you enjoy being a trusted HR resource while also diving into the details of benefits, payroll, recruiting, and compliance, this could be the opportunity for you.Why Work for Us?Make a meaningful impact across the full employee lifecycle and help shape a positive employee experience.Work across all areas of HR, from recruiting and employee relations to benefits, payroll, and compliance.Build strong partnerships with employees, managers, and leadership.Take ownership of meaningful HR initiatives while supporting the day-to-day needs of a growing organization.Expand your career with new challenges, professional development, and opportunities for advancement.Join a company that values its people and is committed to a respectful, collaborative workplace.What You’ll Do:Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance and support across all areas of human resources.Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, background checks, offers, and onboarding.Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruiting strategies, and attract high-quality candidates.Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee offboarding, ensuring a positive and consistent experience.Administer employee benefit programs and serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, plan provisions, and questions.Provide hands-on administration and support for self-funded health benefit plans, including vendor relationships, claims-related questions, plan administration, reporting, employee communications, and issue resolution.Partner with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and other vendors to ensure effective administration of benefit programs.Support benefit plan renewals, annual enrollment, employee education, audits, and ongoing plan analysis.Manage and support payroll processing, ensuring employee information, deductions, earnings, timekeeping, benefit elections, and other payroll data are accurate and processed timely.Utilize the HRIS/payroll system to maintain employee records, process employee changes, run reports, and support HR and payroll administration. Paycom experience is strongly preferred.Support employee relations by providing guidance to employees and managers, addressing workplace concerns, and escalating complex matters when appropriate.Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leaves.Support performance management processes, including performance reviews, coaching, documentation, and manager guidance.Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and ensure HR documentation is complete and up to date.Assist with the development, communication, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and workforce data analysis.Support employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and other activities that contribute to a positive workplace culture.Stay current on HR, payroll, benefits, and employment-law trends and recommend improvements to policies, programs, and processes.Support special HR projects and other responsibilities as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.4-6 years of progressive, well-rounded HR Generalist experience.Demonstrated experience across multiple HR functions, including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, benefits, payroll, compliance, and HR administration.Strong hands-on experience administering self-funded benefit plans is highly preferred.Strong understanding of self-funded health plans, including claims, plan administration, vendor relationships, employee support, reporting, and renewals.Hands-on payroll experience required.Experience with Paycom is strongly preferred.Experience working with an HRIS and maintaining accurate and confidential employee data.Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.Strong recruiting experience with the ability to manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition through onboarding.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with employees and managers at all levels.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.What We OfferMedical, dental, and vision insurance coverage starting on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.Company-paid short-term and long-term disability, as well as life insurance.Paid Time Off (PTO) including floating holidays, sick/personal days, and vacation time.401(k) plan with a 25% company match up to 6%.Company Profit Sharing Plan.We offer a summer perk that supports work–life balance: eligible staff may be eligible for “50/50 Fridays” for occasional early release.Employees receive 8 hours of paid volunteer time each year.Tuition reimbursement program.Christmas holiday bonus.And many more valuable benefits!OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUAt Griffin, we are committed to fair and equal treatment of all employees and future applicants.
