Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with payroll and benefits administration.
• Knowledge of OSHA and local employment laws.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The HR Generalist will play a crucial role as part of our HR Team in a fast-paced environment that supports manufacturing 24/5. The HR Team ensures compliance with policies and fosters a positive workplace experience for our diverse workforce of approximately 250 team members. This role includes employee relations, training, compliance, and benefits administration.

Our Pittsburgh manufacturing site is located in the Mid-Mon Valley, right off I-70 near Bentleyville.

Job Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement

• Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
• Support initiatives that drive employee engagement, retention, and productivity.
• Address and resolve employee issues in compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Assist in the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and offers.
• Coordinate and manage pre-employment screening processes, including background checks, drug testing, employment verification, and reference checks to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding programs.

Training & Development

• Assist in implementing training programs to develop employee skills and support career growth.
• Ensure employees receive required safety and compliance training.
• Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding programs.

HR Compliance & Policy Implementation

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Assist with investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

Payroll & Benefits Administration

• Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate timekeeping and attendance records.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and inquiries.

Performance Management

• Support managers in conducting performance reviews and goal-setting discussions.
• Provide guidance on coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans.

Workplace Safety & Compliance

• Work with the safety team to ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace regulations.
• Support initiatives to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Front Desk Administration

• Greet visitors and ensure they are following required GMPs.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
• Monitor stock levels of supplies and materials and initiate purchase order requests for required supplies.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in HR software (HRIS), Microsoft Office, and payroll systems.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
