Job summary

Now Hiring: HR & Finance Assistant

$25/hour | Experience with QuickBooks a plus

Monclova Road Baptist Church—along with our K–12 Christian school—is seeking a mission-driven HR & Finance Assistant to support our growing ministry and school operations. This full-time, in-person role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a heart for service, a passion for people, and a firm foundation in both administrative and financial support.

Human Resources

  • Establish, document, and improve internal HR policies and procedures
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Assist with teacher and staff recruitment, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and retention strategies
  • Maintain personnel records and assist with compliance matters
  • Serve as a professional, compassionate point of contact for staff HR needs

Finance & Administration

  • Liaise with outsourced payroll and bookkeeping partners to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Assist in reviewing invoices, distributing checks, and supporting financial documentation
  • Organize and maintain financial and personnel records
  • Help coordinate health, safety, and inspection reports (e.g., fire, DOT, etc.)
  • Provide general administrative support for church, accounting and school leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven administrative or HR support experience
  • Financial acumen and comfort working with budgets, payroll, and vendors
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks (preferred) and Google Workspace
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity
  • A committed person of faith who supports the mission of our Baptist church and school
  • Prior experience in a school, nonprofit, or ministry environment is a plus

Monclova Road Baptist Church is a vibrant ministry with a strong commitment to Christian education. Our on-campus K–12 school serves approximately 230 students, and we are blessed with a dedicated team of about 55 employees. We're looking for someone excited to grow with us as we strengthen our internal systems and support our amazing staff and families.
