Job summary

Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, Inc. in East Saint Louis, IL seeks a Human Resources Director to lead all HR functions at the Administrative Office.

The role covers policy development, benefits, compensation, staff relations, and compliance while supporting a mission-driven legal aid organization. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in business or HR (JD preferred), with at least four years in HR and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
• J.D. degree and experience in employment law preferred but not required.
• Minimum four years of general HR and benefits administration experience with supervisory experience.
• Law firm or legal aid experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement training and human resources development programs.
• Assist with management of employee insurance and retirement benefits programs.
• Assist with staff oversight, including performance reviews, hiring, onboarding, off-boarding, discipline, grievances, and other matters.
• Ensure compliance with employment-related federal and state statutes, and HR-related grant requirements.
• Other duties as assigned
