Job description

Starting Pay: $65,000+ DOE

Are you ready to make a real impact in your community by investing in the people who make that impact possible? Join us at the YMCA of the Black Hills as our next Human Resources Director!

As a key member of our leadership team, you'll help shape the employee experience across the Y. This is an opportunity to build a strong, supportive, and values-driven workplace where people can belong, grow, and do their best work in service to our community.

In this role, you'll lead the development and execution of our human resources strategy, working closely with senior leadership, branch managers, and directors to support our mission and strategic goals. From attracting and retaining great people to strengthening onboarding, performance management, leadership development, compensation, benefits, and workplace culture, you'll play a vital role in helping our teams thrive.

Building strong relationships is at the heart of what we do. You'll serve as a trusted resource for supervisors and staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support through workplace concerns and opportunities for professional growth. You'll help foster a positive, inclusive environment rooted in the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

You'll also bring your strategic and detail-oriented side to the table by overseeing HR policies and compliance, employee records and HR systems, benefits administration, compensation structures, training initiatives, and other important processes that help keep our organization running smoothly. No two days will be exactly alike, and you'll welcome the challenge to advocate for our employees, align organizational priorities, and balance compliance and risk management needs daily.

To succeed in this role, we're looking for someone who is a strong communicator, collaborative leader, critical thinker, and trusted problem-solver. A passion for developing people and building a workplace where employees feel supported and valued is essential. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.

At the YMCA of the Black Hills, we're people who are committed to strengthening our community every day. You'll have the opportunity to lead with purpose, develop others, and help create an environment where our staff can reach their full potential.

Ready to take the next step in your career and help build a stronger Y from the inside out? and join us on our mission to strengthen the foundations of our community!
