MGX Equipment Services is seeking a Director of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner driving workforce, talent, culture, and labor strategies that enable business performance across U.S. MGX locations.

This leader will oversee a small HR team and manage HR activities including recruiting, training, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, and labor relations. Reporting to the Sr.

  • Manage performance management, career development, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Ensure policy compliance and investigations; guide disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Lead training and development initiatives and maintain org charts and job descriptions.
  • Oversee payroll accuracy and HR administrative processes.
  • Lead compensation planning and market rate adjustments for hourly roles.

Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION The Director, Human Resources serves as a key strategic business partner within the MGX Equipment Services organization. This leader is responsible for driving workforce, talent, culture, and labor strategies that enable business performance. The role encompasses talent acquisition, training and development, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, employee and labor relations, compliance, and workforce planning/analytics.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, HR – Americas, this leader manages a team of two HR professionals and oversees all HR activities across U.S. MGX locations.

Responsibilities
  • Advise and support business leaders to achieve organizational goals and execute strategy. Lead workforce planning, recruiting, staffing, turnover monitoring, and retention initiatives. Conduct exit interviews and develop programs and policy to strengthen retention.
  • Oversee employee performance management, including career development, coaching, and succession planning for MGX. Ensure managers effectively use company tools and processes.
  • Develop and lead engagement and retention initiatives, with emphasis on high‑potential and critical‑skill employees. Provide coaching to managers to enhance leadership effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Interpret and implement company policies, recommend policy updates, and maintain consistent application. Conduct investigations and guide disciplinary actions.
  • Design, coordinate, and ensure completion of training and development initiatives.
  • Maintain organizational structure accuracy, including org charts, job descriptions, and titles. Manage internal job movement processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing HR team. Provide HR leadership to U.S. MGX sites, ensuring strong HR support. Oversee payroll accuracy and HR administrative processes.
  • Lead annual and mid‑year compensation planning processes. Administer STIP and assess market rate adjustments for hourly production roles.

  • Strong ability to influence and build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong overall business acumen.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Expertise in investigations and HR technical areas including EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.

Required Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources or Labor Relations.
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR Leadership experience.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Advanced HR Certification e.g. PHR or SPHR designation
  • Prior experience in equipment distribution or equipment rental
Work Environment
  • Office and factory setting
Travel Required:

Up to 50%

This leader is expected to visit the sites under their purview at a minimum of twice per year.
