We seek a curious, confident, and results-oriented professional to be part of an enterprise solution-based team. You will influence our HR data strategy, collaborate to advance analytical practices, and govern employee data to support our core values.
Johnson Controls seeks a Data Governance Lead, Human Resources, to lead and manage organization-wide HR data governance activities related to HR data. The role will focus on improving data quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. Responsibilities include establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for policies, standards, and practices at both departmental and business levels to ensure data consistency, quality, and security.
How you will do it:
Proactively network internally to identify and engage data stewards supporting the HR data governance framework.
Develop and support an HR data governance roadmap and strategy.
Implement HR data governance frameworks focusing on data quality and protection.
Define HR data governance roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
Ensure compliance with HR data sharing agreements and control processes.
Govern the master HR data catalog (e.g., Informatica Cloud Data Governance Catalog), including definitions, employee segments, measures, and reference data.
Translate policies for critical employee data attributes into data quality rules to identify defects and improve data quality.
Facilitate HR Data Governance Councils with senior management on objectives and issue resolution.
Drive and maintain low error rates for critical employee data attributes.
What we look for:
Required:
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing large-scale data or projects.
Minimum of 2 years of HR Data Governance experience with Workday or similar enterprise HR applications.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related fields.
Knowledge of data governance practices, enterprise information asset management, and data protection approaches.
Understanding of data-related regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
Strong consulting skills, including change management, communication, and performance measurement.
Knowledge of data management architecture and technologies like Informatica.
Curious, persistent self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills to navigate complex scenarios and uncover insights.
Preferred:
Ability to build consensus, influence, and negotiate to drive outcomes.
Experience managing relationships across business and functional areas.
Strong team collaboration and cultural awareness.
Ability to resolve problems and make timely decisions.
Strong skills in translating HR/Financial policies into defect detection logic using SQL or Excel.
