Lactalis USA in Buffalo, NY is offering an HR Core Services Intern role designed for students or recent graduates seeking hands-on HR experience. This paid internship requires a minimum of twenty hours per week and will support the Core Services Department with tasks in Benefits, HR Systems, Payroll, Policy and Procedures, and other HR activities.

The HR Intern will collaborate with a team of HR professionals, gain exposure to audits, data analysis, and reporting, and contribute to projects

Qualifications

• Full-time college student or recent graduate pursuing an HR-related degree.
• Interest in HR systems, payroll, benefits, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide support on daily HR tasks and audits.
• Conduct internal HR audits of records, policies, and payroll data.
• Analyze data to support informed decisions.
• Process wage garnishments, child support deductions, and unemployment documents.
• Respond to and resolve questions and issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with project tasks such as payroll projects and software migrations.
• Assist with mandatory reporting (Affirmative Action, EEO, CA Pay Data, ACA) and other internal reporting.
• Conduct benefit audits to verify vendor remittance and employee deductions.
• Review and track HR documents including I-9s and other forms.
• Facilitate communication within and across offices.
• Create manuals and SOPs for new processes.
• Assist with producing HR Core Services communications and updates.
• Organize and resolve tax notices and related issues.

Lactalis USA is currently hiring a HR Core Services Intern based in Buffalo, New York. This paid internship will work a minimum of twenty hours per week. The Human Resource Core Services Intern will assist the Core Services Department with various HR assignments and projects within Lactalis USA. The HR Intern will support a team of HR professionals with projects in the areas of Benefits, HR Systems, Payroll, HR Policy and Procedures, and other capacities of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities For This Position Include

• Provide support on daily tasks in line with department objectives including auditing employee changes, reporting, and various HR projects
• Conduct internal HR Audits of employee records, policies & procedures, recurring deductions, status change forms, payroll data, and system configurations
• Complete data analysis allowing departments to reach informed decisions
• Enter, maintain and process items such as wage garnishments, child support deductions, and unemployment documents
• Respond to and resolve questions and issues in a timely and professional manner
• Provide assistance in key project plan tasks (i.e. payroll projects, software migrations, etc.); follow-through to complete on time and with accuracy
• Assist with mandatory reporting, such as Affimitive Action, EEO, CA Pay Data, and ACA, as well as other interior reporting requirements
• Conduct benefit audits to identify vendor remittance discrepancies and ensure employee deduction accuracy
• Review, correct, and track various human resources documents including I-9's and various other intra-company forms
• Facilitate communication among individuals’ inter-office and intra-office
• Create manuals and standard operating procedures for new processes
• Assist with production of communication materials for the Core Services department, including Benefit Newsletters, Wellness Communications, and HRIS/Payroll updates
• Assist with organizing and resolving tax notices and related issues

Education

• In order to fill this position, the candidate must be a full time college student or recent graduate, in their sophomore year or greater, working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business with a concentration in HR Management.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive HR information.
