About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our team, supporting multiple clients in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. As an HR Coordinator at HRAA, you will serve as a trusted HR advisor, managing a wide array of responsibilities including leave administration (FMLA, state leave, short-term disability), onboarding, employee record management, and HR compliance.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various organizations of different sizes and industries, allowing you to develop a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and employment laws. The position is primarily remote with the flexibility to attend occasional in-office meetings and events in Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, or Pittsburgh. Your proactive approach, strong communication skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities will be essential to your success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of recent HR experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.), and leave/benefits administration
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-starter attitude
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for multiple clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through professional communication
  • Manage leave administration processes, including FMLA, state leave, and short-term disability claims
  • Support full-cycle onboarding processes, including background checks, offer letters, employment forms, and orientation
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases accurately and securely
  • Conduct phone screens and exit interviews as needed to support client HR initiatives
  • Respond promptly to employment verification requests, unemployment claims, and support hotline and mailbox inquiries
  • Track and analyze HR metrics such as leave activity, compliance documentation, and other key data points
  • Collaborate with managers and business owners to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee relations strategies
  • Stay current with multi-state employment laws, HR best practices, and industry trends to ensure compliance and recommend improvements
  • Log client communications meticulously for billing and service tracking purposes
