You will partner with leaders on employee relations, performance management, and talent development initiatives to drive talent strategy and an inclusive culture.

The role offers hybrid work (2-3 days in office) and a compensation range of $120,000–$135,000 USD plus a 10%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
  • Experience supporting managers in employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Strong HR generalist and employee relations experience.
  • Ability to influence and partner with leaders at multiple levels.
  • Experience with employee engagement and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Commitment to an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with leaders and employees.

A growing, mission-driven organization is seeking an experienced Manager, Human Resources Business Partner to support leaders and employees across a multidisciplinary workforce. This individual will be responsible for partnering with leaders to support employee relations, performance management, and talent development initiatives. This role supports the execution of people strategies, enhances organizational capability, and fosters a positive, inclusive employee experience

Location: Greater Washington, DC Area | Hybrid 2-3 days in office

Compensation: $120,000 – 135,000 USD plus a 10 percent bonus eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
Workforce & Talent Support
  • Partner with leaders to implement talent initiatives that support department and organizational goals.
  • Support organizational growth, restructuring, workforce optimization, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring efforts and workforce planning needs.
  • Provide input on job descriptions, organizational structure, and talent requirements.
  • Help ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly defined and aligned with business needs.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Provide guidance and coach managers on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, performance improvement, investigations, and corrective action.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
  • Partner with leaders to proactively address workplace concerns and mitigate organizational risk.
  • Partner with Benefits to support the Leave of Absence Process.
  • Work directly with employees in the ADA accommodation process from start to finish, ensuring a fair and consistent process
  • Coach managers through performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback conversations, and development planning.
  • Support the administration of performance review cycles and related talent processes.
  • Partner with leaders to encourage accountability, employee growth, and continuous feedback.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Drive employee engagement strategies and action planning based on engagement survey results.
  • Partner with leaders to create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives within supported client groups.
  • Support recognition, retention, and employee wellness programs.
HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are implemented consistently across assigned business units.
  • Monitor HR metrics and leverage data to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on employment-related matters.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible HR experience
  • Experience supporting managers in employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning.
  • Strong HR generalist and employee relations experience.
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively with front-line and mid-level leaders.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with leaders and employees at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience with progressive discipline including high volume, including high-volume review of performance issues and working within tight deadlines.
