Job summary

ODW Logistics seeks an HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic consultant to Operations leaders. The ideal candidate will have a background in human resources, knowledge of employment laws, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred.
  • Prior 3PL or logistics experience preferred.

Position Summary

This position serves as a strategic partner and consultant to Operations leaders regarding employment laws, compliance, employee engagement, & performance and talent management. They are responsible for driving HR initiatives across the sites they support, acting as a change agent, and ensuring recruiting/staffing needs are met. They will collaborate with leaders to guide HR processes, provide coaching and guidance, and foster a high-performance culture.

Essential Resposnibilites

  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning to develop employees, manage talent, meet succession planning needs and ensure effective selection and retention of employees consistent with company policies and legal requirements
  • Conduct all levels (basic to complex) of investigations and other employee relations issues and further recommends corrective actions
  • Counsel employees and leaders to resolve issues such as policy and procedure interpretation, performance expectations, absenteeism, discipline and workplace harassment
  • Advise leaders and function to ensure employees receive timely and clear communications about business performance, key initiatives and changes in the organization
  • Partners with Operations leaders to develop and execute employee engagement strategies that foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee satisfaction, and support organizational goals
  • Work with leaders and employees to educate on the philosophy and tactics of various programs and to communicate and implement compensation, benefits, talent development, succession, performance management and other employee programs
  • All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent education/work experience preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a Human Resources position preferred
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred
  • Prior 3PL, logistics or supply chain management experience preferred

Capabilities

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations and legal compliance
  • Knowledge of HR systems and technology
  • Compensation & benefits knowledge
  • Strong influencing, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

Physical & Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:

  • Hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate
  • Continuously sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach
  • Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
  • Spend up to 50% of time at warehouse sites in fast-paced environment partnering with associates and leaders
