Job summary

Ellingson Companies is seeking an HR Business Partner for our Agriculture division to act as a strategic advisor, consultant, and coach to leaders across the organization. This role aligns people strategies with business priorities, enhances organizational effectiveness, and fosters a positive employee experience.

The HRBP provides expertise in workforce planning, talent development, engagement, change management, and employee relations to drive business results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of HR experience required, minimum of two years in a HR business partner role.
  • Experience working with all levels of the company.
  • Strong business acumen; construction industry knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of OFCCP, AA, Wage and Hour, FLSA, Non-Compete/Non-Solicit, NDA's.
  • Experience partnering with leaders to drive business results.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Lead communication within supported departments.
  • Lead or support talent reviews, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Identify capability gaps and facilitate development plans, coaching, or training.
  • Support leadership development through coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to align hiring with business needs.
  • Understand staffing trends and workforce dynamics in construction-related business.
  • Support change initiatives with clear change management strategies.
  • Help teams adopt new ways of working aligned to priorities.
  • Facilitate conversations on team effectiveness, role clarity, and decision-making.
  • Handle employee relations with fairness and confidentiality.
  • Guide performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective actions.
  • Promote equitable application of policies and compliance with employment laws.
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits, Learning, Recruiting to deliver HR solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS:
  • Strategic Partnership Partner with leaders to understand business goals and develop plans that enable performance, growth, and effective teams.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations on talent, engagement, and workforce trends.
  • Act as a trusted partner to leaders on organizational design, team dynamics, and leadership practices.
  • Employee Experience & Engagement Champion a positive and high-performance work environment.
  • Partner with leaders to monitor engagement, retention, and morale; develop action plans to strengthen the employee experience.
  • Ensure HR commitments are met, including timely communication, service delivery, and follow-through.
  • Lead communication efforts within the departments you support.
  • Workforce Planning & Talent Development Lead or support talent reviews, succession planning, and workforce planning activities.
  • Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and facilitate development plans, coaching, or training solutions.
  • Support leadership development through coaching, feedback, and resource recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Specialists to ensure hiring efforts support current and future business needs.
  • Understand staffing trends, skills gaps, and market dynamics in the construction industry and proactively manage workforce planning for the business you support
  • Change Management & Lead HR Project work Support organizational changes, restructures, or new initiatives with clear change management strategies.
  • Help teams adopt new ways of working and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Facilitate conversations on team effectiveness, role clarity, and decision-making.
  • Employee Relations Handle employee relations matters with fairness, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Guide leaders through performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes.
  • Promote equitable and consistent application of policies and practices.
  • HR Operations & Compliance Ensure adherence to company policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits, Learning, Recruiting to deliver seamless HR solutions.
  • Use HR systems and analytics to maintain data accuracy and measure impact.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements Education: Bachelors degree business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of HR experience required, minimum of two years in a HR business partner role
  • Experience working with all levels of the company
  • Knowledge / Technical Requirements Strong business acumen, with construction experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of employment law and compliance; knowledge of OFCCP, AA, Wage and Hour, FLSA, Non-Compete/Non-Solicit, NDA's and other relevant topics related to recruitment
  • Competencies, Skills & Abilities Experience working with business leaders and the ability to build relationships at all levels
