The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an HR Benefits Representative within Employee Support Services to provide guidance on benefits administration, leave and onboarding experiences, and employee services.

You will collaborate with HR colleagues to support workforce programs, interpret policies, and deliver high-quality service to all UMMC employees, while maintaining discretion and accuracy in handling confidential information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 2 years of experience in HR or benefits administration preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to present and explain policies clearly.

Job Summary

Provides subject matter expertise and guidance across human resources functions to ensure value-added service and support to UMMC employees with a focus on employee service excellence. Partners with HR colleagues to execute key workforce programs including leave and benefits administration, employee awards and recognition and new hire orientation and onboarding experience. Responsible for representing workforce needs in the areas of employee services.

Education & Experience

Bachelors’ degree and two (2) years of experience in human resources or benefits administration.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service and presentation skills. Maintain and demonstrate at all times a highly professional appearance and demeanor, strong communication skills, verbal, written, and listening skills. Ability to interpret and explain laws, rules, policies and regulations. Knowledge of personnel programs and processes including Workday, Kronos, Web Extender, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to interpret and analyze informational needs and provide advice and guidance in HR-related matters. Ability to interact with all staff levels in a professional manner. Ability to show considerable discretion regarding sensitive and/or confidential information. Must be able to manage a high volume of work with accuracy and a keen sense of urgency.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a resource to employees by interpreting and guiding in the resolution of policy-related, process-related, or procedural problems and/or inquiries
  • Provides employee support in-person, via telephone or email providing program related guidance to all workforce, in addition to responding to questions and resolving issues that may arise
  • Collaborates in the development, interpretation and administration of benefits and leave administration policies, procedures and practices and employee support services programs in accordance to UMMC objectives and federal and state legal requirements
  • Interacts with carriers and vendor partners for problem identification and resolution
  • Works closely with HR leadership in the development and maintenance of comprehensive HR employee support services programs
  • Assists in measuring and monitoring employee perception of services to guide continuous improvement efforts
  • Assists in identifying employee communication and educational needs pertaining to benefits and leave programs
  • Collaborates in the preparation and delivery of information on employee-centered initiatives
  • Works with HR team members to facilitate assigned project completion, effective organizational change, and business transformation
  • Executes the delivery of innovative, value-added employee support services across a variety of human resources functions
  • Performs data entries and updates in Workday to maintain employee records including but not limited to submitting electronic Workday actions and appropriate reports and updates
  • Prepares reports and analyzes data for use in discussions with senior management regarding human resources services
