King County seeks a Human Resource Associate SDA to support benefits, payroll and retirement operations during open enrollment. The Central Employee Services Division (CESD) within King County's Department of Human Resources (DHR) seeks a Human Resource Associate in the Benefits, Payroll and Retirement Operations Section (BPROS). The successful candidate will provide customer service to employees on complex benefits issues by communicating accurate benefits information to employees and responding to general benefits inquiries. This Special Duty Assignment is needed in preparation for and during open enrollment season.
The ideal candidate will be highly team oriented, with a strong ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Benefits team and make a difference in serving our employees.

This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek, normally 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is represented by Local 117 International Brotherhood of Teamsters – Professional & Technical and Administrative Employees.
This position works a hybrid schedule of remote and onsite work, requiring work in the office at least three days a week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to change based upon operational necessity.
Onsite presence will be required during the first weeks of training and the open enrollment period of November 1-15.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
