Job description

Overview

Data and Analytics Specialist, Human Resources. Location: Research Triangle Park, NC 27709. Duration: 12 Months. Pay rate: $60 to $65/hr. Hybrid, 3 times in office.

Responsibilities
  • Connect and Manage Data Across Systems: Work with data from HR, finance, operations, and other internal and external platforms. Ensure data is accurate, validated, and structured to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Translate Incentive Plans into Scalable Solutions: Interpret incentive plan designs and build the logic, calculations, and processes needed to deliver accurate and timely payments. Create systems and workflows that align with plan rules and produce reliable outcomes.
  • Design Dashboards and Reports That Inspire Action: Build visualizations that simplify complex data and make insights accessible to HR and business leaders. Develop metrics frameworks that help teams measure progress, identify trends, and anticipate future needs.
  • Automate Workflows and Build Bots That Boost Productivity: Use Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents, to create bots and automated workflows that reduce manual effort and improve efficiency. Develop lightweight applications and tools that support HR operations and enhance employee experience.
  • Integrate Microsoft Office Suite Tools for Greater Value: Leverage Microsoft Copilot, Planner, Forms, Excel, and other tools to streamline processes, improve collaboration, and deliver smarter solutions. Ensure seamless integration across platforms to support scalable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Explore the Responsible Use of AI and Emerging Technologies: Identify opportunities to integrate AI in ways that are ethical, transparent, and constructive. Evaluate new technologies with a focus on value creation, usability, and compliance.
  • Deliver Insights That Drive Strategy and Culture: Turn data into stories that inform decisions, shape employee experiences, and support organizational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure insights are understood and applied.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, HR Analytics, or a related field
  • At least five to seven years of experience in data analytics, preferably within complex and matrixed organizations
  • Proven ability to translate business and compensation models into data-driven systems and outputs
  • Expertise in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or R, and Excel
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Copilot, Planner, Forms, and Power Platform
  • A clear understanding of data governance, privacy, and ethical AI principles
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, with the ability to explain their role in secure and scalable data solutions when needed
Bonus Skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in large organizations
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling, forecasting, and machine learning
  • Background in agile or design thinking environments
  • Passion for making data meaningful, accessible, and actionable
