Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud LLC seeks an HPC Storage Engineer to design, deploy, and manage multi-PB storage systems supporting compute environments. You will automate procedures using Infrastructure-as-Code and guide projects with expert storage knowledge alongside Researchers and Software Engineers.

The role requires experience with scale-out storage (Vast Data, Isilon/PowerScale), a strong problem-solving mindset, and US work authorization. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience deploying and managing high-performance and/or clustered filesystems at scale.
• Strong knowledge of data center storage technologies (file, block, object).
• Team player who collaborates to deliver supportable storage environments.
• Experience with scale-out storage architectures (Vast Data, Isilon/PowerScale).
• Recent experience with JIRA tickets.
• Strong problem-solving and self-driven work ethic.
• Passion for technology and hardware.
• Python and/or DevOps experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

The Position

The HPC Storage Engineering team manages our high performance scalable storage in excess of 200 petabytes. We are responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of this storage platform, which supports the research workloads of our Researchers, and is therefore a core component of infrastructure. Working alongside our global team, you will optimize and troubleshoot workflows alongside our Researchers and Software Engineers. Our involvement extends to optimization and troubleshooting of workflows, working with Researchers and Software Engineers daily, as well as our Networks team and external vendors, including DELL, VAST, HPE and, RUBRIK.

• Leverage experience and expertise across all things storage related to act as an expert for a wide array of projects
• Work with customers to streamline workflows for optimal storage usage

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience deploying and managing high-performance and/or clustered filesystems at scale
• Strong working knowledge of the different types of data center storage technologies (file, block, object) and how they differ
• Team player that enjoys collaborating with others to deliver supportable storage environments
• Experience with scale-out storage architectures such as Vast Data and Isilon/PowerScale
• Recent experience working through JIRA tickets
• Great problem solving skills, be self-driven, and hard working
• A passion for technology and hardware
• Python and/or DevOps experience
