Job summary

Erias Ventures is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive distributed metrics and monitoring solution for HPC systems. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure, with collaboration across disciplines.

The candidate should have recent Rust and Python development experience, Linux CLI proficiency, and familiarity with Splunk, log management tools, and IaC automation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE.
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to tackle mission-critical problems.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation for software delivery.

Description

We are seeking a DevOps Software Engineer who shall be responsible for part of a team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.

Clearance

A current Top-Secret/SCIwith polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; or nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Experience with Message Brokers including Kafka
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CIli>
